Seen or Unseen.

Scars are a marker of a before and an after. Once you were one way, and now this is here; a physical or emotional reminder that something happened, and you’re different now. Some scars inspire sadness, some inspire joy; but all scars inspire stories.

And we want to hear your story.

‘SCARS: Seen or Unseen’ is an art exhibit that will be exhibited at the new Kinderhill Brewlab location on TBD. As a part of the exhibit, we are looking for people who are willing to sit for a portrait session, and a conversation. Our storytellers will talk with you about the scar you’d like to share with the community, and our photographer will then guide you through a photoshoot that will feature your scar— seen or unseen.

Each piece of this exhibit will have three features:

  1. A stunning portrait created with you, and Ashley, our portrait photographer. This is likely to be Ashley’s last art show project, so if you’ve been waiting to participate in an art project of hers; this is your last chance. Your portraits will be mounted in a custom 9-Up frame. You'll be able to purchase this piece for approx. $425.
  2. A beautiful piece of pottery, handmade by local potter Carla that is inspired by the story of the scar you choose to share with the creative team. This piece of pottery will be one-of-a kind, displayed next to your portrait, and available for you to purchase the night of the exhibit. This custom piece will be approx. $100 - $250
  3. A piece of poetry inspired by the story you tell, written by Jess, our wordsmith. This poem will be displayed with your portrait on the night of the exhibit and is yours to keep at the conclusion of the event. This custom piece will be approx. $110.

To reserve your spot in this project, you must pay your deposit of $175 prior to your session with the storytelling team.

We are excited and honored to help you tell the story of your before and after; your SCARS: Seen or Unseen.
