And I Don’t Care Who Knows…
Stacey and I met a few years ago when I randomly decided to go to her Zumba class. She was kind, energetic and the most welcoming person I’d ever met. I’d never walked into a fitness class not knowing anyone and felt so at home. Thankfully she liked me too and we’ve been friends ever since!
One of our biggest bonds is owning our own businesses. It can be a real struggle so it’s nice having someone going through the same issues. We both are constantly taking classes on social media, seo, marketing, etc. In all of this we’ve learned that being the face of your brand is incredibly important. I’m thankful she’s put her trust in me to capture who she really is.
It’s been about a year since we did Stacey’s personal branding images last so it was time for an update. We’ve been talking about doing a blog post together and this seemed like the right time! Please take a few minutes to watch the video I created from her session and then read HER side of the story below!
What do you do?
I teach 3 different types of group fitness classes and I also do online mentoring for people interested in food, fitness and overall Health
How did you get into that?
Completely by accident. Well, I should back up for a second. I wanted to be a personal trainer in my late teens but opted for a more traditional path. I went to college and got a bachelor’s of science in information technology and worked in corporate America for 16 years. I got laid off in mid 2017 and now fitness is my only business and I love it.
When my sister was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease I changed my eating in solidarity for her. To my surprise, it ended up changing my life. I lost 60 pounds and I felt better than I had in years. I had more energy, felt more confident, and was proud of myself. I wanted to pay it forward to other women so they wouldn’t have to struggle for so long like I did.
Do you have a website?
Yes I do! www.staceygreenside.org
What do you use for social media?
I use Instagram and Facebook. You can find me here:
Why did you want to have new photos taken?
I needed new photos for my social media and website. Selfies are not the same!
Did you know the types of images you wanted when you booked your session? And/or what are you planning on using them for?
I had an idea of what I wanted beforehand. I collaborated with Ashley because she has a professional ‘eye’ for what would work and what could be changed. I will use them on my social media pages and my website.
What was it like having your hair and makeup done?
This was an experience I hadn’t had before. I was nervous at first but Annie really listened to what I liked and made me feel really comfortable. Once it was all done I was amazed at how good I looked and felt. I am not good at hair or makeup. So having a professional do it was a great experience for me.
How did you feel during the actual session? Most people are really nervous in front of a camera.
Ashley knows exactly what to say to make me relax. Sometimes I flash a fake or weird smile and she makes me laugh to get me back to my real smile. Also, I don’t know how to pose so she makes it easy for me by telling me exactly how to sit or stand and what to do with my arms.
What does it mean to you to #existinphotos?
When I was uncomfortable with myself I avoided the camera at all costs. Always being the one taking the photos instead of being in them. I know that my kids and family will cherish these photos someday when I’m gone.
